This is the prettiest report I’ve ever seen. Any analyst would drool to produce something this nice. Great growth and traction, congrats Shopify.

Is there any revenue or transaction count (theoretical) limit to a Shopify store? Not that I’m going anywhere anytime soon, but is it possible to have a store too big for Shopify?

Chris: No, there is no revenue or transaction limit to Shopify. Some of our stores do millions in revenue.

Well done. With so much data and information to pull from, creating an infographic that tells the right story—and basically replaces those tired old annual reports, is no small feat.

    Congratulations on a great 2011!!

Nice review. What criteria did you use for the “staff picks” ?

Ole: Staff Picks were cool shops that did really well, but not well enough to break the top 10.

They were chosen more for their unique products or awesome store design than anything else. Products like Wooden Watches, iPod Nano watch bands, beer opener iPhone cases. Designs by famous artists such as SwissMiss. A couple others were simply cool brands with a little bit of celebrity status, like Epic Meal Time and SMS by 50 Cent.

The data drew me in, the design kept me intrigued. What font is that used for the 2011 date in the banner? Love the fraudulent sign-ups report. Genius!

Cesar: Cheers, thanks for the kudos.

The “2011” typeface is “Ribbon”, by Dan Gneiding. It’s a pay-what-you-like typeface over at Lost Type ( I had to do some tweaking to the kerning of the 1’s, but it’s pure awesome other than that.
