Pampered Locks™ is the first brand to blend the essences derived from plants, flowers and wood resin that aide in scalp health, with natural and organic oils, delivered through a hair care treatment.
The business was founded on the idea that healthy hair begins with a healthy scalp. Our products evolved out of our passion for natural products that have protective healing properties.
Pampered Locks products were formulated based on research by dermatology specialists. While undertaking the process of sourcing high-quality ingredients, we learned some lessons about partnering with suppliers. Our business needs demanded suppliers that offered: fast delivery times, superb inventory management (no "out-of-stocks"), 3rd party certifications, and a well-documented supply chain.
How did you earn your first sales? Which channels are now generating the most traffic and sales for you?
Pampered Locks earned it's first sales through pay-per-click advertising. The website traffic combined with Google Analytics data guided decisions about our navigation strategy and content, helping us to improve the consumer experience.
Pampered Locks also began engaging with our customers through social channels, both before and after purchases. We connected with people who, like us, value natural, responsible beauty products. Exposure to our brand was earned through social "word-of-mouth" networking.
Tell us about the back-end of your business. What tools and apps do you use to run your store? How do you handle shipping and fulfillment?
The Pampered Locks website uses several apps that allow us to deliver features that consumers want to aide shopping decisions. Allowing customers to submit ratings and reviews of our products, for example, was a feature we implemented right away.
Our shipping and handling processes were developed to achieve an end goal of being competitive with other best-in-class e-commerce websites. With this in mind, we only offer expedited shipping, which is free on the majority of our products.
